[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1457974] Re: Coloured triangles on screen
My computer is not buggy and this Bios is working well since Xubuntu 10! This an Ubuntu bug! I discovered, that a fresh generated xorg.conf solves my problem. In Xubuntu 14.10 I didn't need a xorg.conf, but now. Somehow Ubuntu didn't load the right driver module for my graphics card. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457974 Title: Coloured triangles on screen Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After upgrading from 14.10 to 15.04 the Xubuntu login screen is corrupted with triangles and colourful shades (see photo). --- .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.360 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: vivid DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1457974] Re: Coloured triangles on screen
Tim Ritberg, as per http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/ShowFiles.asp an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.10c). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-1.10c ** Description changed: After upgrading from 14.10 to 15.04 the Xubuntu login screen is corrupted with triangles and colourful shades (see photo). - ProblemType: Bug - DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 - Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu4 - ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-18.18-generic 3.19.6 - Uname: Linux 3.19.0-18-generic x86_64 - ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.1 - Architecture: amd64 - Date: Fri May 22 18:17:54 2015 - ProcEnviron: - TERM=xterm - SHELL=/bin/bash - PATH=(custom, no user) - LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 - XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=set - SourcePackage: xorg - Symptom: display - UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to vivid on 2015-05-22 (0 days ago) - --- + --- .tmp.unity.support.test.0: - + ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.360 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: vivid DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: - Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
