I'm now using Fedora 29 and I have transmission-gtk 2.94 (d8e60ee44f) and have no issues, maybe it was fixed in this version or it have something to do with Ubuntu. I am running Ubuntu 17.04, Transmission 2.94 (14714) And I am getting this exact problem.
