[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1617301] Re: soffice.bin: Unknown event notification ; Syscall points to uninitialised byte(s)

2016-10-23 Thread dino99
After some digging, i've found that installing libreoffice-core (in case
of non wanting to install the metapackage 'libreoffice') does not
'recommend' to install "libreoffice-gnome | libreoffice-kde" as it
needs.

Please add "libreoffice-gnome | libreoffice-kde" as a libreoffice-core
recommended dependency.

Actually i've upgaded to 5.2.3 rc1 & installed libreoffice-gnome , and
the previous are gone

** Summary changed:

Wonder if the reported issue result of a compilation error:

Title:
   soffice.bin: Unknown event notification

Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Using calc on yakkety 64 bits, within a gnome-shell session

Journalctl is spammed with lot of:
  Aug 26 14:14:17 u64 soffice.bin[10208]: Unknown event notification 34
  Aug 26 14:14:17 u64 soffice.bin[10208]: Unknown event notification 35
  Aug 26 14:14:43 u64 soffice.bin[10208]: Unknown event notification 36
  Aug 26 14:14:17 u64 soffice.bin[10208]: Unknown event notification 37

i does not know what that means, but working on a 450 kB ods file, when
hitting the 'sort' icon applied to a 20 rows x 70 columns selected area with
numbers and formulas (its an example; all other selection are also affected),
for about 1 or 2 seconds the sheet become greyed before the 'sort' dialog box
finally appear.
This looks abnormal, and is probably related to the 'unknown event' logged.
