[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1650381] Re: Slow scrolling in Firefox and slow Youtube-playback with Radeon RV730
[Expired for firefox (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650381 Title: Slow scrolling in Firefox and slow Youtube-playback with Radeon RV730 Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Expired Status in xserver-xorg-video-ati package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: I first discovered this problem in Mint 18.1 Cinnamon (64-bit) and Mint 18 XFCE (64-bit). I enabled Glamor (and thus, it seemed DRI3) and tried turning off smooth scrolling and/or hardware support in Firefox, but to no great avail. Interestingly, scrolling worked nice and smooth with a Geforce FX5200, 128MiB - an older, inferior card running on nouveau. I installed Ubuntu 16.10 to try with the latest software and drivers..and the problem still remains. Scrolling is stuttering badly if scrolling in a full screen. Scrolling the Facebook feed the problem is less, but noticeble. Youtube-videos play abhorrently slow. Marking as Invalid because the release is EOL is not correct. Marking as Incomplete. Also, 18.04 is (at the time of writing) still in development, and you should expect some breakage. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Release_has_reached_End_of_Life_.28EOL.29 Reporter, is this still present on 17.10 or 16.04? ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650381 Title: Slow scrolling in Firefox and slow Youtube-playback with Radeon RV730 Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in xserver-xorg-video-ati package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I first discovered this problem in Mint 18.1 Cinnamon (64-bit) and Mint 18 XFCE (64-bit). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1650381] Re: Slow scrolling in Firefox and slow Youtube-playback with Radeon RV730
I discovered that both scrolling and Youtube-playback (HTML5) works just fine in Chromium, both in Ubuntu 16.10 and Mint 18.1 (which is built on 16.04). So perhaps this is a Firefox bug? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650381 Title: Slow scrolling in Firefox and slow Youtube-playback with Radeon RV730 Status in xserver-xorg-video-ati package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I first discovered this problem in Mint 18.1 Cinnamon (64-bit) and Mint 18 XFCE (64-bit).
