Sorry for the delay, I was not receiving notifications. So, now that you said I tried other values and setting speed through xinput is indeed working (at least for my Logitech M185 at home). I thought 0.0 was the lowest value. Setting to -0.5 slows it significantly. Guilherme, are you sure xinput has no effect at all ? The effect might not be noticeable unless you try more extreme values. Same problem after updating to 17.04. With a wireless logitech M185 and a "PixArt Microsoft USB Optical Mouse" Setting the speed through xinput has no effect, but "xinput --list-props " shows the updated value. Thank you Ivan Larionov for pointing me to this xinput tool, which can also be used as a simple workaround : you can set the desired acceleration using "xinput --set-prop ". To know the , run "xinput" without arguments and look for your mouse device, then to know the , run "xinput --list-props " and look for a property "Accel speed". I have the same issue. Mouse is Razer DeathAdder 2013. Mouse pointer speed setting works under gnome-shell, but under Unity it has no effect.
