[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1800328] Re: HP Office Jet Cups reports Filter Failed. Works OK with 16.04

2018-10-30 Thread Marc Deslauriers
In Xenial, /usr/share/ghostscript/9.5/iccprofiles was a directory.
In Bionic, it is a symlink to /usr/share/color/icc/ghostscript.

The Bionic package needs to use dpkg-maintscript-helper to ensure the
transition is done properly.

I will prepare a fix for this.

** Package changed: cups (Ubuntu) => ghostscript (Ubuntu)

** Also affects: ghostscript (Ubuntu Bionic)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: ghostscript (Ubuntu Bionic)
   Status: New => Confirmed

** Changed in: ghostscript (Ubuntu Bionic)

The link is not similar to the previous one. It looks like the upgrade
did not adjust it correctly. A ghostscript bug?

2018-10-28 Thread brian_p
There is nothing to be done by you, but I have seen this issue appear at
least five times so it wouldn't be unreasonable to see the upgrade
process as flawed. What do you get now for

  ls -l /usr/share/ghostscript/ ?

Thanks for the feedback.

HP Officejet Pro 8620 fails printing with filter failed message
sudo rmdir /usr/share/ghostscript/9.25/iccprofiles
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgs9-common
in cups, localhost:631, restart jobs
printed all jobs.

My issue seems to be fixed.
