1. Please provide output from 'ps auxw' showing all your processes with their memory usage. 2. Please don't mention any apps in this bug, since it's just about gnome-shell. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892665 Title: gnome-shell occupy much space in my pc Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: when i boot my laptop then suddenly my ram consumption reaches to about 2 gigabytes though there are no any startup apps running in background.when i had a look in system resources then i found that my gnome shell is occupying most of the space then any other resources running .My ram memory consumption reaches to about 7.8 gigabytes when i open some tabs in vivaldi web browser, visual studio code with flutter and dart plugin installed. Also please be careful to avoid measuring virtual address space (the VSZ column in ps) - that is not memory usage. We need to look at the RSS column instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892665 Title: gnome-shell occupy much space in my pc Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: when i boot my laptop then suddenly my ram consumption reaches to about 2 gigabytes though there are no any startup apps running in background.when i had a look in system resources then i found that my gnome shell is occupying most of the space then any other resources running .My ram memory consumption reaches to about 7.8 gigabytes when i open some tabs in vivaldi web browser, visual studio code with flutter and dart plugin installed.
