[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1945700] Re: [DisplayLink] Settings for multiple displays do not persist

2021-10-05 Thread bartgenuit
Interestingly, the problem disappears when using Xorg, so it seems to be
only with Wayland.

[DisplayLink] Settings for multiple displays do not persist

Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Hi, I'd like to report the following bug. I'm trying to setup multiple
displays, but whatever settings I try to set, after pressing 'Apply'
and 'Keep Settings', they revert back to the previous settings.

I have one built-in laptop display (D1) and one external display (D2),
connected via a USB-C dock using DisplayLink and HDMI. Display Mode is
  set to 'Join Displays'.

It seems whatever settings I change, they don't persist. I tried the
following settings:
  - Change the primary display from (D1) to (D2). Reverts back to (D1) being
the primary.
  - Change the order of the displays to match my physical setup (D2 on the
left, D1 on the right). Reverts back to D1 on the left, D2 on the right.
  - Change the order of the displays putting D1 on top of D2. Reverts back to
D1 on the left, D2 on the right.
  - Change the refresh rate of D2 from 60 Hz to 50 Hz. Reverts back to 60 Hz.

If you need any further information, please let me know.
