[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1953172] Re: Find a better handling of /etc/localtime symlink on Ubuntu Core
** No longer affects: firefox (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: firefox-launchpad-plugin (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1953172 Title: Find a better handling of /etc/localtime symlink on Ubuntu Core Status in Snappy: New Bug description: Ubuntu Core uses a symlink for `/etc/localtime` to `/etc/writable/localtime`. But systemd's timesyncd does not like that. For Ubuntu Core it has been patched, but fix is fragile. Since having a read-only `/etc` is not uncommon in embedded, there should be value in finding a proper solution which could be accepted upstream so we do not need to maintain patches for it.
