I decided that this is the most sensible route and uploaded the thing to Debian. This will make sense to translations in Ubuntu once 0.7.5-0.3 has built in Ubuntu followed by an update of the language packs. Upstream may need some tutoring as regards translations. In jammy there was a patch which changed the label "Sharing Options" to "Local Network Share". So translations of "Sharing Options" are not available via language packs in kinetic and lunar, which might be the reason why this bug was filed.
