2023-09-22 Thread imad zaiour
I've deleted `~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions` and reinstalled
gnome-control-center and rebooted the system but the bug still persisted
till I reinstalled ubuntu-desktop using the following command: sudo apt
install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop

You have control over the message displayed when Ubuntu dock cannot
load. GUI-only users would not be able to discover that this is due to
incompatible extensions issue.

Thanks, closing since the issue was due to having a local installation
in the userdir which is not something we have a control on.

** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)

dock/+bug/2017186/comments/2 "solved" this issue for me.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 2017173] Re: Ubuntu desktop settings unavailable

2023-04-20 Thread Michał Krassowski
When starting `gnome-control-center` from terminal I see:

```
21:54:25.3724  cc-ubuntu-panel[14629]: WARNING: Extension
d...@rastersoft.com is not available or invalid (state 99)
21:54:25.3726  cc-ubuntu-panel[14629]: WARNING: Extension
ubuntu-d...@ubuntu.com is not available or invalid (state 99)
21:54:25.3726  cc-ubuntu-panel[14629]: WARNING: Extension
tiling-assist...@ubuntu.com is not available or invalid (state 99)
```

When I open GNOME Extensions app I see that those are disabled. Could it
be that those did not upgrade for some reason? How can I trigger manual
re-installation of these three extensions? Could the error message in
`Ubuntu Desktop` panel be more informative?
