[Desktop-packages] [Bug 398138] Re: 'Open with Other Application' dialog needs 'Always use this application to open files like this' option
Notice in this attachment, that nautilus is missing the checkbox that is NOT missing in my previous post's attachment. ** Attachment added: MissingAlwaysCheckbox2.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/398138/+attachment/3095751/+files/MissingAlwaysCheckbox2.png ** Tags added: nautilus precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398138 Title: 'Open with Other Application' dialog needs 'Always use this application to open files like this' option Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Fix Released Status in Nautilus: Unknown Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: It's about the dialog opened after clicking on the nautilus Open with other application item. I think it should have a simple checkbox labelled Make this application default for .* files, or something similar, instead of going on properties item open with tab add select the application in the same dialog as before. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 398138] Re: 'Open with Other Application' dialog needs 'Always use this application to open files like this' option
The Open With feature, SHOULD have an Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check-box (see attachment). Compare this attachment, with the one I post next (the dialog from nautilus, after clicking Open With). ** Attachment added: MissingAlwaysCheckbox.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/398138/+attachment/3095749/+files/MissingAlwaysCheckbox.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398138 Title: 'Open with Other Application' dialog needs 'Always use this application to open files like this' option Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Fix Released Status in Nautilus: Unknown Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: It's about the dialog opened after clicking on the nautilus Open with other application item. Is the status of this bug wrong (Fix Released)? I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2, and this is still an issue.
