  CREATIVE X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB no remote control

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  edit: the sound and soft. volume control works on 9.10

  hw not working: CREATIVE X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB
  driver for device: snd_usb_audio

  what should work:

  1clear sound,
  2 infrared remote control and hardware volume control button,
  3 no volume control
  4. device works with full speed, which is according specification USB 1.0 
speed, it should be high speed USB 2.0.

  what's the problem:

  1sound has pops and cracks few times per second.
  also reported here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6830864&postcount=8
  2 remote control in this sound card is not implemented in driver, so no HID 
device is found, I tried it with lirc and driver usbaudio, but it didn't work.
  3. no mixer
  4. USB 1.0 speed prevents special features like surround and crystalizer to 
work
