[Desktop-packages] [Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
I have the same problem with HP OfficeJet 6500 709n, HPLIP-3.14.10 Public Release, LinuxMint 17 My duplexing option is fully greyed out and i cannot select it anymore. And i selected Autoduplex size A4 so i cant select long edge or short edge But not print a double side. An issue ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to hplip in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416513 Title: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b Status in HP Linux Imaging and Printing: Incomplete Status in “hplip” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Since I've installed HPLIP v3.9.6b, duplux printing no longer works with my OfficeJetPro 8500. To be more precise, the duplex option in the print dialog only shows the one side option, and in any application (firefox, openoffice) It doesn't work either with version 3.9.8. Config: - ubuntu 8.04 - HP OfficeJetPro 8500 (909a) - network-connected Duplex printing used to work with HPLIP 3.9.2. Uninstalling (http://hplipopensource.com/node/188) and re-installing HPLIP 3.9.2 is workaround. Is this a regression ? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
I am seeing the exact same issue with an OfficeJet 6500a Plus e710n-z on Ubuntu 12.10 using HPLIP 3.13.4 I fixed it by running "system-config-printer" from the CLI, deleting all instances of the printer (looks like the HPLIP may have created duplicates) and adding it back. Then going into the setting of the printer (Right-click, Properties) Selecting "Installable Options" and checking "Duplexer Installed". Ok all that, log out and in again. (This is the exact same as editing the ppd, but might be preferred by those who like a GUI) Checking in HP shows the duplexer no enabled BUT the main issue of the controls being greyed out is still present. Same problem here with HP LaserJet 4350 (I know it's a different printer but this is the most related post I've found and it solved my problem). I've edited the ppd and changed: *DefaultHPOption_Duplexer: False into *DefaultHPOption_Duplexer: True -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to hplip in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416513 Title: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b Status in HP Linux Imaging and Printing: Incomplete Status in “hplip” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Since I've installed HPLIP v3.9.6b, duplux printing no longer works with my OfficeJetPro 8500.
