Bryan Quigley, thanks for the the response. Unfortunately, LO 4.4.3 is not available via an official Ubuntu repository. Also, as WORKAROUNDs are not fixes, this would not fit the criteria of Fix Released as defined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status . This was fixed in the LibreOffice 4.4.3 release. And another workaround is to highlight around the table and then paste.
