[Desktop-packages] [Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2012-03-11 Thread David Overcash
Is configuring to suspend, closing power configuration, opening it
again, setting to never ... able to solve the issue ?

That doesn't work for me - I've tried just about every combination of
opening and closing the power settings.

2011-10-05 Thread Matthew Woerly
How about this for the power
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/864479
and this for the screen turning off immediately
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/863038

Just noticed these fixed in the latest update.

I can confirm that changing to a suspend and then back to never kept the
computer from suspending.
I can also confirm what Gremlyn1 said. Once screen is set to never turn off, it
immediately starts dimming...

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2011-10-03 Thread ironstorm
I have a quadcore desktop, it seems like telling the screen saver never
to come on starts it fading out as soon as I stop moving the mouse as
well... perhaps there's something broken in common.

I can confirm that after changing settings to allow suspending then
changing back to no-suspend, the setting now persists. Resolved for me.

Try setting the screen turn-off to 'Never' and then stop moving the
mouse. For me, it would immediately start to go dim as though I had it
set to 0 sec instead of Never.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2011-09-30 Thread Dave Gilbert
I agree with Jeff; 'Has a moderate impact on a large portion of Ubuntu
users' and 'Has a severe impact on a small portion of Ubuntu users'
(depending if you really relied on your laptop not suspending).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 862813] Re: Power Managment settings are being ignored

2011-09-29 Thread Jeff Lane
Started to mark this as High, because it's a regression and pretty
annoying, however, I'll leave that to someone else to decide ultimately.

Title:
Power Managment settings are being ignored

Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
My current power settings are as follows:

On Battery: Suspend when inactive for 30 minutes; Suspend when lid is closed
When Plugged In: Dont suspend when inactive; dont suspend when lid is closed

However, even though my Thinkpad x201 is plugged in, the settings are
being ignored and the system is suspending the system after periods of
  inactivity.
