Bug description:
  Reproduce:
   - start "awesome" (window manager)
   - open gnome-terminal
   - hold down "windows"-key
   - drag the terminal window with left mouse button

  What I expect:

  What I actually see:
   - Window becomes smaller and smaller

  Workaround

   - resize the window to a size that is odd to the height of a character
   - when there is a bit space in the bottom of the window (clientheight is not
a multiple of the height of one line), moving will work correctly

2014-09-20 Thread Max Kueng
Can confirm on Ubuntu, Arch and Manjaro. Happens with both gnome-
terminal and terminator. It's been happening for quite some time (~ 2
years). I'm running awesome inside gnome-session.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 872876] Re: terminal window resizes when moving around window in awesome window manager

2014-08-07 Thread Daniele Varrazzo
More complete upstream report for this bug is here:

https://awesome.naquadah.org/bugs/index.php?do=detailstask_id=1022project=1pagenum=8

There is no activity since Friday, 14 March 2014; however they seem to
blame gnome-terminal, because for the violation of the rule 4.2.4:
Clients must not respond to being resized by attempting to resize
themselves to a better size.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 872876] Re: terminal window resizes when moving around window in awesome window manager

2014-08-04 Thread b0wter
I am subject to the same bug. The first time I move gnome-terminal it
will resize.

On a side note: this also happens on my Arch Linux installation where I use
Terminator. I found a workaround to though:
In the options disable the window geometry hints in the preferences.
Maybe there is a similar option for gnome-terminal...

Title:
terminal window resizes when moving around window in awesome window
  manager

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Reproduce:
   - start awesome (window manager)
   - open gnome-terminal
   - hold down windows-key
   - drag the terminal window with left mouse button

  What I expect:
   - Window should move around and size should stay the same

  What I actually see:
   - Window becomes smaller and smaller

  Workaround
   - resize the window before you drag it around (Win+RMB-Drag)
   - resize the window to a size that is odd to the height of a character
   - when there is a bit space in the bottom of the window (clientheight is not
a multiple of the height of one line), moving will work correctly

  ProblemType: Bug
  DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
  Package: gnome-terminal 3.0.1-0ubuntu3
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4

  ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3
  Architecture: amd64
  Date: Wed Oct 12 16:12:27 2011
  InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Alpha amd64 (20110827)
  ProcEnviron:
   PATH=(custom, user)
   LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
   SHELL=/bin/bash
  SourcePackage: gnome-terminal
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 872876] Re: terminal window resizes when moving around window in awesome window manager

2011-10-23 Thread Daniel Hahler
Try if the workaround for bug 787465 fixes it for you (sudo apt-get
purge appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3, re-login).

Might be caused by the same menu proxy.
