[Desktop-packages] [Bug 886639] Re: Default zoom level setting is ignored for Compact view in Nautilus
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 508065 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/508065 ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 452200 default zoom doesn't apply to compact views ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 508065 Changing 'Icon View Default' - 'Default zoom level' works once and not after -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886639 Title: Default zoom level setting is ignored for Compact view in Nautilus Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hello, this bug seems to have been introduced with the new GTK3-based Nautilus version (it is also present in Oneiric). If I try to set a custom value for "Default zoom level" for Compact view mode in Nautilus (via Edit -> Preferences -> Views), it is ignored and the default value (66%) is used anyway. Reproducing this is easy: - Start Nautilus - Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Views - Select "View new folders using Compact view" - Close Nautilus window and open a new one - Got to Edit -> Preferences -> Views again - Select a very large or very small zoom level for "Compact View defaults" - Close Nautilus window and open a new one again The exspected result would be that the icons are either very large or small (depending on what you chose before). But they are still the same size as before, regardless whether you restart Nautilus/open different folders etc. . Some kind of workaround is to set an individual size for certain folders via Ctrl+'+' or Ctrl+'-' (This works). But this is very annoying since you would have to do this for _every_ folder if you want to have a consistend icon size.
