This bug isn't reproducible on 15.10, which leads me to believe that
it's been fixed.

Does this still happen on 12.04 or 14.04?

Bug description:
  The libreoffice icon (the one which brings up a page where you choose
  which LO  program to use) will not stay in the unity launcher after a
  reboot.  It is replaced with a question mark icon and no longer
  functions.

  To reproduce:
  1. Start libreoffice (type "libreoffice" in the terminal).
  2. Pin the icon to the launcher
  3. Reboot computer. 

  Notes: running 12.04 64 bit, have upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 to
  12.04.
