Public bug reported: Per #914369, we're just now making it possible to learn the location of a file that comes up in a search (when you open a **Home Folder** window and search for a file using the search box at top right).
In the search results, please also add an **Open file location** selection to the context menu (right-click menu) on each filesystem item found. This would open the item's parent folder. E.g., if the search found an item at **/a/b/c/item.txt**, then right- clicking on its icon and selecting **Open file location** would open a new window showing the contents of the **/a/b/c/** folder. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/923823 Title: Add "Open file location" to right-click menu in file search dialog Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Per #914369, we're just now making it possible to learn the location of a file that comes up in a search (when you open a **Home Folder** window and search for a file using the search box at top right).
