Title:
the genre fields aren't seperated by semicolon, it's all one genre

Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
The metadata for the tracks is correct but the software is not
recognizing the semi-colons to split the fields. If your not going to
use album artist and artist as fields then you need to at least use
semi-colons to seperate the fields for overlapping artists and genres
.are you telling me i have a seperate artist node
for every track collaboration with more than one or a featured artist
.same with genres instead of rock, classic rock, metal, numetal,
hip-hop, rap, rap-rock ...its showing several competing genres
like rock; Classic rock or Afrobeat and then Afrobeat; Chillout or
Afrobeat; Funk or Afrobeat; Jazz .I mean thats ridiculous i and
the rest of the world want Afrobeat , then Chillout and funk and
jazz as seperate genres all having those overlapping tracks . cmon
man the first thing you learn in programming is delimmitting fields
and files . Fix your coding

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 977655] Re: the genre fields aren't seperated by semicolon, it's all one genre

2014-04-13 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.
