[Desktop-packages] [Bug 984586] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 external TV monitor problem
[Expired for xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984586 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 external TV monitor problem Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: More stuff to report, as usual, Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 build 14/4/2012, booting from USB. Of course, I wanted to try the new TV (LCD, LG 32" using HDMI cable) as external monitor. It was detected right away but then I noted that even when it has the correct resolution (1920x1080) the top bar and the Dash board were wrong. "No big deal", because I have also an ATI Radeon 6870 without the propietary drivers, was my first guess but then I did the same, booting from -this time- a Samsung laptop with a Core i5 and an integrated video card from Intel. And yes, exactly the same problem. If you look at the pics attached, you can see the hidden top bar (I clicked so the menu could be noted) and the Dash board partially hidden too. If you reduce the resolution below the recomended (ie, 1280x900) then everything if fine, as you all can see. Along with this problem, the Shutdown dialog is fine if you invoke it from the extended monitor but it "run away" to the secondary too if clicked from the main monitor. Best Regards. Turbo. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 984586] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 external TV monitor problem
Turbo, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding.
