[Desktop-packages] [Bug 986497] Re: massive network problems on 12.04 eth0 LED stays on
That's multiple issues in one. Let's try to tackle them separately. As a first step, make sure IPv6 is set to Automatic and that the require an IP address to bring up this connection or whatnot is *NOT* checked. If you don't use IPv6, you may as well set IPv6 to Ignore. This is for both wlan0 and eth0, both wired and wifi. Second, if the lights stay on on the ethernet device and you can't get a DHCP address (as described in the attached logs), there is likely an issue with the wired device in your system. As such I'm reassigning this to the 'linux' package. ** Package changed: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986497 Title: massive network problems on 12.04 eth0 LED stays on Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: i use ubuntu 12.04 whit Gnome3 (but the problem is alway on other desktops like unity) i start ubuntu, take the login an the two LED from eth0 going to stay on. the green and the orange LED lights permanently - no network - i must reboot the hole system wlan just as! - i start ubuntu whitout LAN, i make a login to a WLAN - no connect (i cant ping anything) on my laptop i can make a hardware reset from my wlan. sometime i must do it twice bevor i can connect to the internet this happens also if the screensaver starts. i came back to my laptop, login by screensaver - no more networks another observation: i turn of my laptop (shutdown) but, ubuntu starts by itself.
