[Desktop-packages] [Bug 992303] Re: Cannot play mp3 or ogg files in Rhythmbox after upgrade to 64-bit 12.04 Precise

2014-02-20 Thread Antoine Dalmières
I confirm on my freshly installed Ubuntu 12.04.4 amd_64. This bug affect me.
My music is stored on a NAS mounted via a autofs cifs mount.
It affect my mp3/ogg, in fact, every music file that is not lossless.
I also have the same bug on a freshly installed Ubuntu 13.10 amd_64
NB : I have a dedicated audio pci board (asus xonar dx).
NB : it seems to affect other gstreamer application, as I have the same issue
with totem, but not with vlc.

2014-02-20 Thread Antoine Dalmières
Find a workaround in my case.
According to
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/clementine-bugs/LpCK3Y81_q4 (last
comment) it's a option in cifs mount that has changed in 3.7 kernel.
I hadded cache=loose in my cifs options list and now it's OK

2012-07-09 Thread James M. Leddy
This has been fixed in the oem projects, but I'm not sure if it's the
same bug or not. There was a problem whereby fluendo wrapper was not
properly escaping a bash variable. I'll open a new bug against the
fluendo package.

All right, in order to rule out gstreamer or not, please try with gst-
launch:

sudo apt-get install gstreamer-tools
gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///home/joe/my-random-media-file.mpeg

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 992303] Re: Cannot play mp3 or ogg files in Rhythmbox after upgrade to 64-bit 12.04 Precise

2012-05-11 Thread nacnudsco
I have Ubuntu 12.04 64Bit via an upgrade from 10.04 I think. Anyway, i
had the same issue.

To resolve it, after much messing on, I did this

Sound Settings ( Via the wee speaker in the top panel ) - Output -
Speakers ( Built In Audio ) - Mode:

It was set to Analog Stereo DUPLEX.

I changed this to

Analog Surround 4.0 Output

And all my music came back on.

Just so you know.
Peace.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 992303] Re: Cannot play mp3 or ogg files in Rhythmbox after upgrade to 64-bit 12.04 Precise

2012-05-03 Thread kiriath-arba
The issue has been solved for me by using the same fix as in post#3 here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gstreamer0.10/+bug/770158

Directory in question can be deleted from the terminal with:
rm -rf ~/.gstreamer-0.10

That folder was recreated with new contents when launching Rhythmbox
afresh on my machine.

Removed application via Ubuntu Software Center and re-installed along
