Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  in 12.04 going to system settings and standard applications, trying to
  choose the calendar app, only gives GEdit as choice.

  this should be Lightning with Thunderbird as the standard E-Mail
  Application in Ubuntu.

  btw even the calendar in the clock indicator should show Lightning
  dates...
