[Desktop-packages] [Bug 994630] Re: applications print settings not working
The problem for me seems to have disappeared with later upgrades in 12.04 (12.04.2 & 12.04.3). So far, no problem with 13.04. Just installed 13.10. Have yet to test printing with on the Ricoh MPC 2051. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994630 Title: applications print settings not working Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: (1) Ubuntu 12.04 final release (no problem in 11.10) (2) Task: printing jpg or pdf files (3) Applications used: Image Viewer, Document Viewer, Gthumb (4) Problem printer settings: color / grayscale & duplex on / off (5) Printer driver Ricoh Aficio MPC 2051 through network Description: Printer settings made in the above applications for color / grayscale & duplex printing are over-ridden by the global printer system settings. For example, if the global system settings is for one-sided printing and the setting chosen in an application e.g. Document Viewer is for two-sided printing, the output is one-sided. To enable duplex printing, this has to be set in global system printing settings. This is true also for color / grayscale settings. Other settings, like 2 pages per side, can be applied in the application print dialog. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 994630] Re: applications print settings not working
Has this been addressed since then? I'm still experiencing this issue on 12.04.2 LTS, latest updates with cups. My duplexing option will never stick for any printer (Long Standard), always defaults to Single even after applying/purging cups/reinstalling cups/reinstalling Ubuntu.
