Is there a possibility to create en envrypted folder (local folder).

I tried to boot form the CD and it seemed to boot ok.

Is this a problem with Brasero or my drive and do you have any tips
about how I can test where the problem lies.

  Thanks Paul

Title:
Nautilus produces error dialogs in an infinite loop

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

  To reproduce the problem,

  1) Create a symbolic link to a folder that contains a subfolder:
  mkdir -p a/b
  ln -s a c
  2) Open Nautilus to the subfolder through the symbolic link:
  nautilus c/b
  3) Remove the original subfolder and its parent:
  rm -r a

As expected, Nautilus displays an error dialog with the message "Could
not display '/home/user/c'. The location is not a folder."

Unexpectedly, Nautilus continues to open duplicate error dialogs in an
infinite loop, causing the computer to quickly become unresponsive. A
  screenshot of this is attached.

Brasero can not copy some video DVDs

Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: brasero

I'm trying to transfer a video DVD to an ISO file in order to view it
on my media center PC. Brasero can do this for all six discs i have
tried except one - the "Bröloppsfotografen" DVD that contains < and >
characters in the disc title. The DVD plays in Totem Movie Player
  2.32.0.

  * Steps to reproduce:
  1) Insert video DVD disc "Bröloppsfotografen" with disc name
"" (see DVD disc properties.png)
  2) Start Brasero with console command "brasero --brasero-media-debug >
media-debug.txt"
  3) Select Disc copy

  * Expected behaviour
I expect the dialogue that appears to contain my DVD-disc like in
"Expected.png" attachment.

  * Observed behaviour
The list is empty (see "Observed.png") and this error message appears in the
console, but *not* in the media-debug.txt file:

(brasero:4573): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to set text from markup due to
error parsing markup: Unknown tag 'BROLLOPSFOTOGRAFEN' on line 1 char

Clicking a link in an email in Thunderbird opens the corresponding

It should bring the FireFox window to the front.

I've asked brasero to burn a data DVD. 3 GB of data over a 4.4GB DVD-R medium.
  It was not able to burn a 16x DVD-R medium with a 8x DVD+/-R/RW (HL-DT-ST
DVDRAM GSA-T20L) but at 2x, while K3B on the same hardware was able to do it
(before i dumped KDE for other problems).
Then, after finishing the burning, it stayed "idle" for 30+ minutes in
"calculating checksum". System load was almost 0.
I cancelled this step and soon after brasero said it was not able to expel
the medium.
Of course K3B is able to do so and also the "eject" command line tool can,
with the very same system user permissions.
I feel all these are bugs.

  Include updated Humanity style

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: libreoffice

LibreOffice Humanity icons (libreoffice-style-human package) should be
updated to include the latest fixes from the attached file. A total of
130 icons are updated in this revision.

  User interface freeze exception rationale:
Does not introduce any changes to translations or documentation, it's just a
cosmetic update.
Very unlikely to break anything at all.
This update fixes several very visible issues, e.g. the blurry and confusing
"new document" icons that are always on panel, which means that every
OpenOffice user would encounter that issue.
Might be considered bugfix-only, since it just makes LibO icons catch up with
the rest of the system and fixes several highly-visible issues.

See attached archives and screenshots for details.

Also, Bug #757304 for correct package name.

Title:
  Evolution does not close anymore

Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evolution

Since today (08/02/2011) Evolution does not close anymore. It just
geys out and then stays that way. When I start it on the console I get
  the following output:

  andre@andre:~$ evolution

  ** (evolution:3085): CRITICAL **: categories_icon_theme_hack: assertion
`filename != NULL && *filename != '\0'' failed
  EI: MAIL PREFS

I then can only hit CTRL+C which leads to a Segmentation Fault or kill
  it via killall evolution.

In addition to this I also get a message box (since today) with an
exclamation point on a yellow sign. The message does not contain a
message though (see attached picture). For whatever reason it goes
away after some time by itself.

Yesterday everything worked fine and I also have not installed updates
since then or made any changes to my system. The only thing that did
change was my mail quota for one of my 3 imap accounts. It is now 500M
  and was 250M.

  Thanks

seem to be the cds i am using since they worked fine on another
computer using also brasero. Since this is the first and only issue i
have ever had with this program I don't know what to make of this at
all.the cd burner is an external usb drive which I have used before
without fail also with brasero. memorex is the name brand ill have to

an acer gz5. I tried to burn the same kind of audio CD using another

are not read write protected I make certain of this always for the

The url for the stream is reached from

  http://abc.net.au/classic/

( "listen now" , choose the windows button)

This was a deliberate experiment, to see if the gstreamer codecs etc
installed "on demand" from other attempts to play .wmv files etc would
handle this, using the totem plugin for Firefox.

only brought up the "apport" dialogue, from which I have made this

  Problem with random number generator.

Status in “gnome-games” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-games

  Gentlemen,

I know this is trivial but here is the problem that I noticed, There
is no security problems and the program doesn't crash but it is faulty
nonetheless. I have been playing "AsileRiot Solitare - Klondike" and
I noticed that the cards as dealt were not random it the least.
(Yes, I know about random number generators and how they are not truly
random, I have an advanced degree in Computer Science.) If you play a
few times you will notice that the cards dealt are always very close
  to each other.

For example: if an eight is at the top of a stack, there is a very good
chance that at least two of the remaining eights are also at the top of a
stack. There also is a high probability that sevens or nines will also be at
the top of a stack. I think you need to work on your card dealing routine. I
suggest that a good random number generator be used. If the other card games
use this same card dealing routine, they also will be affected.
   best wishes

  William Stanley

weather applet updating-tooltip too vague (no location information)

Status in “gnome-applets” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-applets

The weather applet will often become stuck updating its status.
Mousing over the icon while it is updating only shows a tooltip saying
"Updating...". That is much too vague - at least it should mention
which location's data it is updating. This is especially important if
one has several weather applets for different locations.

  How to reproduce:
  1) Disable your internet connection.
  2) Force a weather applet to update.
  3) Mouse over the applet's icon.

Current behavior: The tooltip says "Updating...".
Desired behavior: The tooltip should say something in form of "Location:
updating...".

Bug description:

There are three tabs in the "Passwords and Encryption Keys" window -
Passwords, My Personal Keys and Other Keys. To resize a column, I
move the mouse over the divider until the icon changes to a left-right
arrow, and then drag (just to be clear). This works perfectly in the
Passwords and My Personal Keys tabs, but does not work in the Other
Keys tab. When I try, it attempts to drag the column itself, as if I
had started dragging from the middle of the column.
