The repositioning you see is the behavior I added for smaller displays like phones and tablets; it's also triggered when you narrow the browser window enough. Bootstrap is too reactive to go with a horizontal scrollbar; instead it'll just cram the layout into the skinny screen. The white space margins around the right pane (main content) do get pretty wide for a very wide display, and it's because Bootstrap scales them with the view width. They are absent in a mobile display, so that the whole screen is used. They are present for the large displays to avoid long lines of text in the main content. Re: [VOTE] Website update
-0 In general, I really like the look and feel of the new site. However, it has some serious issues when viewed on small windows, like mobile devices. These things start to be an issue at ~800 pixels width: * Menu bar across the top takes up a significant portion of the screen real estate and cannot be scrolled past. * Page contents are hidden by the menu bar / search bar * Navigator bar on the left overlaps with main page content I tested using Chrome on both a 1680x1050 laptop and a Samsung Galaxy S3. Any way we can get these things fixed before the switchover? Thanks for checking on a mobile device! I'll see what can be done. Bootstrap is designed for handling mobile displays, so there should be easy ways to improve the view. Re: [VOTE] Website update
I made a couple of changes which help a lot on mobile. - The navbar now starts out collapsed. You can use a toggle to expand it. - The sidebar now rests above the main content on small screens. Please take a look and see if it's better. I tested with Firefox on a large display and on my own Galaxy S3.
