Re: Ant Nightly Build Job in Jenkins
Simian stands for "similarity analysis" and is supposed to check for copy-paste code duplications. I guess the older versions of simian disapper from the site as new versions are released. Currently, 2.5.8 is the latest version. There should be no harm updating to the latest version, ditto for checkstyle (Ivy project uses version 7, since version 8 as resolved by Ivy fails, and I did not have time to investigate what causes that yet) and findbugs. Ant Nightly Build Job in Jenkins
Hi all is anybody familiar with the things we try to do with the job called "Ant Nightly"? It has been failing for months now and the reason is not Ant but the build process which tries to download a "simian-2.4.0.tar.gz" that simply doesn't exist at the expected URI. Re: Ant support for users who use JUnit5

I'm not really familiar enough with junit5 and in particualr not with its internals to perform a review of your code. I can try to spot simple mistakes but won't be able to see whether you are using junit5's API correctly. > While working on this new task, I kept thinking whether it would make > more sense to just have this task as a separate project under the Ant > umbrella and have its own release/versioning cycle. This is what I would have expected to happen :-) Apart from what you mention, it may also make it easier for people who want to contribute without having to get a full built of Ant itself going. > It did look like a good idea to separate it out but ultimately I > decided _not_ to do it mainly for the reason that I think it makes > more sense to have a task in Ant which allows users to write tests > (using a modern test framework) and test them, right out of the box of > an Ant installation. We probably do unless the junit5 runner can do that for us. You may want to use different JVM settings or just be able to allow tests to crash without crashing the build. > - Make the current "junitreport" task be usable with the XML results > of this "junitlauncher" task. Many thanks for the time you put in, this is great Stefan - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@ant.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@ant.apache.org

Back then I assumed it was JAI not coping with the module system but never looked deeper into it either. If you feel you can finish it in the coming days, then we can certainly wait for it to be stable. If you think it needs more time then there isn't anything stopping us from doing a release now and cut new release sooner then out current very slow schedule.
