Re: Hi

2020-01-01 Thread Saikat Maitra
Hello,

I have created a new jira issue
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-9045 "Implement an Ignite runner
using Apache Ignite compute grid" and have assigned myself. This issue is
related to open issue https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-12228

I have read the related docs
https://beam.apache.org/contribute/runner-guide/ and also reviewed the
capability matrix
https://beam.apache.org/documentation/runners/capability-matrix/.

I was hoping to connect and discuss if the issue can be divided into
smaller tasks so that individual PR can be raised.

Regards,
Saikat

Re: Hi, some sample about Extracting data from Xlsx ?

2019-04-16 Thread Pablo Estrada
Hm I am not very familiar with POI, but if its transforms are able to take
in a file descriptor, you should be able to use FileIO.match()[0] to find
your files (local, or in GCS/S3/HDFS); and FileIO.readMatches()[1] to get
file descriptors for these files.

If the POI libraries require the files to be local in your machine, you may
need to use FileSystems.copy[2] to move your files locally, and then
analyze them.

Let me know if those are some useful building blocks for your pipeline,

Hi Pablo ,
Thanks for your attention,
I so sorry, my bad written "Cs extension " I did means .csv extension !
The example like this: load-csv-file-from-google-cloud-storage

I was think Using apache POI to read each row from sheet throwing to next
ParDo an CellRow rows
same like that:
.apply("xlsxToMap", ParDo.of(new DoFn() {.

I don't know if it is more ellegant...

2019-04-15 Thread Pablo Estrada
Hello Henrique,

I am not aware of existing Beam transforms specifically used for reading in
XLSX data. Can you share what you mean by "examples related with Cs
extension"?

I am aware of some Python libraries foir this sort of thing[1]. You could
use the FileIO transforms in the Python SDK to find each file, and then
write a DoFn that is able to read in data from these files. Check out this
unit test using FileIO to read CSV files[2].

Let me know if that helps, or if I went on the wrong direction of what you
needed.

 Hi Folks,

Just wanted to say hi to the good folks in the Beam community in my new

At the moment I am working on a couple of blogs around the Timer and

contribute as documentation to the Beam site. An example of the patterns
 can be seen here: LINK

Hope to be adding many more in 2019 and really looking forward to being

Re: Hi

2017-10-03 Thread Aviem Zur
Hi Dennis,

You can take a look at the "Contribute to Beam" page on the website, and
most importantly the Contribution Guide https://beam.apache.org/contribute/

You can find open "starter" tasks on JIRA using the labels "starter" or
"newbie" like so:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20BEAM%20AND%20status%20%3D%20open%20and%20labels%20in%20(starter%2C%20newbie
)

Let us know your Apache JIRA username and we can add you as a contributor
so you can assign a task to yourself.

Re: Hi

2017-10-03 Thread Dennis Jung
Hello,
I'm Dennis Jung, working as SW engineer(usually Java, Python, JS) in Japan.
I also hope to contribute on BEAM project.
But though I'm used to in Github, it is first time joining on Apache
project.

Is there some kind of list of simple bug fix, or good guide for
contribution?
Hope this is not a silly question.

Thanks.
