August board report

2014-08-06 Thread Alex Boisvert
FYI, I prepared our August board report:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/BUILDR/August+2014+Board+Report

Feel free to edit/comment. Will send to board@ in about 24 hours.

Curious if anybody has comments/feedback on the github integration so far.

Curious if anybody has comments/feedback on the github integration so far.

It is still a little primitive and the idea that you can operate on
pull requests at a distance seems a little painful.

For example - to interact with pull request you need to have a commit
with a comment to close the pull request. Then you need to have a
merge commit on master that merges the pull request. And it seems that
the script that scans the git messages on the apache side can only
handle one comment in a push (Or at least I had to get infrastructure
to directly close pull requests).

I assume apache is never going to allow direct access to the github
projects but l think it would be easier if there was a simple web page
on the Apache side to interact with them it would be much easier.
