Re: Migrating away from Travis-CI

2022-10-26 Thread Francis Chuang
CALCITE-5306 has been merged for both Calcite and Avatica. I have lodged
a ticket with Infra to remove AppVeyor [1] from the Calcite repo, so
that it won't fail on each PR / push.

it would be probably a good idea to retire AppVeyor too as ORC did with
success (possibly in a separate ticket).

I have seen frequent failures on AppVeyor while retrieving dependencies,
and I have often found myself waiting for it to kick in for quite some time
while GitHub actions and Travis were done already.

For Calcite, only the calcite and calcite-avatica repos use travis

and

those projects are also using Github Actions already. Perhaps in our

case

we will just need to remove the Travis configs from those repos.

Greetings PMC Members!

Infrastructure is moving away from Travis-CI at the end of 2022.

If your project is not currently using Travis-CI, this email is not

actionable.

Projects using Travis-CI:

Please take a look at

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INFRA/Travis+Migrations <
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INFRA/Travis+Migrations>

and join the builds meetings and mailing list for project updates.
