Re: API: listUsageRecords

2015-04-05 Thread Ramzi Youssefi
Hi Praveen,

thank you for your reply!
I was checking in the database for usage data and I realised that all usage
tables are empty. I think this is because I'm using the simulator, which
only mocks some virtual machines and storage devices (among others).

It would be great if I could at least have a json file with some data
examples. Do you know where I can find something like this?

Thanks!

[VOTE] Accept the donation of gstack to apache cloudstack

2015-04-05 Thread Ian Duffy
Hi All,

As stated in a previous thread [1], myself, Sebastien and Darren are
proposing the donation of gstack [2].

I would like to call a vote, so that we have formal consensus on
accepting the code into the project. I suggest that it be accepted
into a separate repository like we do with cloudmonkey.

VOTING will be left open for 72 hours.

Thanks,
Ian

David - yes, vote is required before putting up the IP clearance documents.

All contributors have signed and submitted a CLA to asf. Will do out the
rest of the process if/when voting passes.

Done.

I've try with success to commit on Cloudstack svn tree (I suppose that
is my new member status).
I think that was a PMC task ("web site update"), the ASF member don't
have special rights on the management of project (pmc). I'm a special
case with my member + commiter CS roles :-)

How does gstack (and ec2stack) handle CloudStack versioning? Do they self
discover API calls, or are they related to specific CloudStack versions?

Re: [VOTE] Accept the donation of gstack to apache cloudstack

2015-04-05 Thread Ian Duffy
Erik - Both were wrote to support 4.x. As far as I'm aware there is
suppose to be no breaking API changes between .x versions. (its been
awhile so excuse my lack of examples) but in some cases we noticed
small formatting or rendering differences in older 4.x versions, we
attempted to accommodate these as much as possible. I'm not aware of
any clever way to do this other than fix them as we see them. very
much so open to suggestions.

While writing it we tested against exoscale which was 4.0.2 at the
time. We also tested against the 4.2 simulator and based the test
cases of 4.2 simulator replies. Feel free to check out
https://github.com/BroganD1993/ec2stack/tree/master/tests/data to see
what exactly we test.

I hope this answers your concerns.

@ghxandsky, do you know why java => 1.7.0 is working with centos7 and not
with centos63? The surprising thing was, on 6.3 without failing due to missing
dependency, it installs java 1.6 even on a system which doesnt have java.

yes, would be better for my mind, for example, with the member status, I
have access to pmc / sec lists, but I just in "read only" on my mind
because only committer (the double hats issues).
