This would normally require a pc from the foundation, in order to have a
special sw installed, and it does not really give a good outout.

the cheap solution of this, is to have an audit marker (typically a button
on the mike), and then ask the speaker to press the button at every slide
change. That way it is easy to synchronize audio/presentation afterwards.

We could also consider having a fixed (unmanned) video recording in each
room, that would make everything easier. It is surely more expensive than
audio only, but I have been told by a pro. that the difference is less than
20%.

just my 2ct.

Is the size measured in cm or in? If it's inches, this will be quite
problematic to carry around Europe, no matter how much space Jan has at
home. If it is centimeters, this sounds definitely more manageable!

Its correct that we "only" talked about "european hub" (what a name!), but
I have plenty of storage space, so having a box alongside extra stickers
etc is no problem.

Re: Open Source Organizational Culture

2014-05-03 Thread Pierre Smits
Hi all,
This is a good initiative to do regularly (e.g. yearly or bi-yearly), and
it should be sponsored/guided by this project/community. It could/will help
the ASF (specifically those involved in community building) to pinpoint
which projects operate successfully (in the spirit of the Apache
Foundation) and which should be offered assistance to improve.

But it should be communicated to all within all projects.

Regards,

Pierre Smits

For each file listed, I need a speaker name and talk title. This can be
obtained from the ApacheCon schedule itself, based on the file name and
 the
room name. Or, you can listen to the file itself, at
 http://feathercast.apache.org/podcasts/ApacheConNA2014/ if the schedule
 doesn't make it evident.

I'll be uploading more files over the coming hours - I'm kind of
bandwidth limited so this may take a while - so please check back over
 the
next day or so if you're able to help.

 Thanks!
