Re: ASF student collaboration program

2017-09-27 Thread Carlos Sanchez
Excelent idea! Let me know as I'm based in Coruña.

Just FYI it is probably better/easier to pick some projects you are
interested in and reach them directly as they are quite independent.

Hi!

Good to see this initiative :)

I would be happy to help and mentor in general too, so count on me!
In Apache jclouds we've completed a couple successful GSoC projects with
students from Galicia. If you're interested in a cloud project, I would be
happy to help there too.

I.

Re: ASF student collaboration program

2017-09-27 Thread Hadrian Zbarcea

Hello Antón,

This is the right kind of initiatives and I am sure you will find quite
a few people willing to help, myself included. I am a committer on a few
ASF projects that may provide a good career for you students and would
be happy to provide help and mentorship.

Please feel free to reach out to me once you get this off the ground.

Good luck,
Hadrian

In our opinion the program is a win-win for everyone:

  * Students from UVigo: evangelize open-source and get real experience.

We would need from the ASF:

Hi Rafa,

Thanks! You are more than welcome. I will ping you as soon as we start
the program to discuss the details and see next steps.

More feedback from other projects or the ASF would be also welcomed.

Best regards,

Antón
