As per the first comment, the problem is that the DOAPs have used incorrect / 
unexpected syntax for the categories.

The expected syntax is described here:

https://projects.apache.org/guidelines.html

The projects have used a valid category name, but presented it in the wrong 
syntax.

I can sort out Commons-RNG.

Perhaps someone else can get Kafka to fix their DOAP?
