A very informative and well produced set of slides.

Thanks!

It would be more impressive though with a couple of numbers (e.g. persons
subscribed to ML, and thereby participating in our decision process)...

The problem with numbers is that they get stale quickly, but I see your point.

The traditional state of the feather talks at ApacheCon would
provide those numbers, there's probably some of those in Jim's slides
at least.

I am no member, but would it not be a good idea to have a standard
presentation on our web page, keep it in svn so it can be updated. That
would enable
1) people to simply grab it and use it.
2) have volunteer translators make local versions
3) People outside ASF could use it to get a feeling of what we are.

Top would of course be to also have a youtube.

Right now, based on the mails, it seems everyone assembles their own
version. I would really prefer to have a base version which people could
adapt to their specific needs.

ASF promotional material - slides etc

2014-04-03 Thread Dave Cottlehuber
Next week I’m giving a talk to some compsci students at a university. Naturally
ASF will be prominently mentioned. Does anybody have any existing slides or
content to help me introduce the ASF? I’ve found the excellent
http://community.apache.org/ content already BTW.

Did you see http://community.apache.org/speakers/slides.html as well?

In the meantime I have more recent slides about the ASF at
http://www.slideshare.net/bdelacretaz/open-source-at-scale-the-apache-software-foundation,
will add them there.

Hello,
last year I've created a 2.00 minute video about what ASF is all about.
You can download the video
