I'll explain better: physical objects are not available, meaning that
either they haven't been printed yet or they are in Europe and it's
unpractical to deliver them to OSCON in the US.

This is why I focus on the "designs", since stuff would have to be
reprinted anyway. We have designs available for:

- A4 leaflets, in color (suitable b/w too) https://flic.kr/p/dSDcDC
- A roll-up like this one, roughly 80x200cm: https://flic.kr/p/dSDcB5
So for these two items the main issue is whether someone is attending
FOSDEM and can print them.

Pins with the OpenOffice logo used to be a quite successful giveaway
that we could look into redesigning (we don't have the original files,
but they had the old logo) and reprinting. Again, I don't know whether
it makes sense to print stuff in Europe and ship it to the US... But Kay
feel free to bring this to the OpenOffice dev list and we can find some
ideas there, provided that someone is actually going to attend OSCON or
the Expo Hall!

Regards,
  Andrea.

Thanks Dennis. I didn't even think to look at JUST the expo hall fee. So,
this will help in seeing if we have interests from volunteers.

At any rate, Andrea and I can coordinate on getting the pins to Melissa.

Historically, Expo Hall passes are free. OSCON charges a $25 fee that should
be pre-registered for. My sense of this is that it is simply meant to
discourage walk-ins that are not in the target audience of the conference and
the expo sponsors. The info is in the last entry at
<https://en.oreilly.com/oscon2014/public/register>.

This, by the way, is enough to get to the rooms where there are meetings, such
as the ASF Board, other birds-of-feather activities that are peripheral to the
conference. There are usually some meeting rooms available at the Oregon
Convention Center, but they may all be booked by now. The time I visited OSCON
looking to meet-up with Apache folk a couple of years ago, I don't recall
having to do anything special at registration. I certainly didn't register for
the conference itself.

Truthfully, I didn't have anything particular in mind -- I was just
wondering about this booth generally.

OK, I'll ask about this. I think OpenOffice does have some popular items

Hi Kay,

What kind of project giveaways are you thinking of? Let me know - I'll be more
than happy to accommodate this if I can.  Please be sure to contact brand
management if approval is needed!!!

As Ross mentioned, I'm the primary booth staffer, but there are always a
handful of volunteers that help at the booth (staffing during breaks/lunch and
help with the setup/teardown).  Shane will be my sidekick at the booth this
year.  If you or others from your project will be attending OSCON and would
like to be present at the booth at a specific time to talk to the attendees,
just let me know.  We could always send out a broadcast via social media about
"stop by the ASF's booth at XXX to speak with the reps from Project XXX".  That
goes for the other projects as well!!

It's always great to have someone from the community at the booth to answer
technical questions!!

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Have a great day - speak soon,

~Melissa

In theory we could be more organized giving specific projects a time slot
