Java 17 is officially GA as of Sept 14. It is a Long-term-support (LTS) release.
I recommend developers download it and start using it in place of Java 16. We need to officially support Java 8, 11, and 17 now. If you are still using Java 8 or 11, I would also mention that when I switched to mostly using Java16, it was a noticeable performance increase which I expect will be sustained in Java 17. YMMV.
