[jira] [Created] (FLEX-33347) DateSpinner dateAndTime jumping
Fréderic Cox created FLEX-33347: --- Summary: DateSpinner dateAndTime jumping Key: FLEX-33347 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33347 Project: Apache Flex Issue Type: Bug Components: Mobile: DateSpinner Affects Versions: Adobe Flex SDK 4.6 (Release) Environment: Both mobile (iOS) and desktop (Mac) I've tested it Reporter: Fréderic Cox As reported on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9126194/flex-mobile-4-6-datespinner-dateandtime-jumping-from-jan-31st-to-march-1st: set the date in DateSpinner to January 30 or 31 (using mouse or touch) click (mouse or touch) on February 1 (visible one or two rows below on the DateSpinner) The Datespinner does spin forward but does not stop at February 1: it jumps to March 1. The same behavior can be observed with March 31 - mouse click on April 1 causes a jump to May 1; with May 31 - mouse click on June 1 jumping to July 1, and so on. I suspect this behavior is related to the fact that the next month has less days than the prior month (30 instead of 31, or 29 in the case of February 2012), but it is not the behavior that I would like to see when following these two steps. Does anyone know a workaround or fix? When the DateSpinner is set with displayMode as 'date' all is well, but that doesn't work in my use case. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. [jira] [Commented] (FLEX-33349) TypeError #1009 happening in dataProviderRefreshed() of List.as after a call to endItemEditorSession() in Spark Datagrid
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33349?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13553952#comment-13553952 ] João Sérgio Nobre Saleiro commented on FLEX-33349: -- Hello Carol - it's been a while, since Flex Summit :) . I'm right now trying to isolate it, so I can build a simpler test case but I haven't got anywhere yet. The only thing I've discovered in the meantime is that this happens if a popup is created with PopupManager right after the itemEditor saves, and only on the second change! Ironically, this use-case is quite common in our application... The internal workflow is: a) the itemEditor has a ComboBox that the user changes b) when the user focus out the editor, endItemEditorSession is called c) the save method dispatches an Event, that bubbles up d) the view behind it catches the Event, and decides whether to show a popup or not e) the second time the user changes an itemeditor that makes the popup appear, the RTE appears. The null error is inside the SDK. I've tried to simplify the code as much as possible, but it's hard to build a simple test case. The (released) application is available here: http://www.boonzi.pt/demo . While the site is in Portuguese, after you install and run the product you can choose English. To reproduce the error is quite simple, but it takes some steps: 1- Run the product, and choose to start the demo version (link on left-bottom) 2- Go to Transactions. 3- On the top-right, click the big icon with the arrow (import) 4- Click Next 5- Open the attached TXT file in a good text-editor and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) (this is used to populate the datagrid) 7- Back to the product, press "import" 8- Press "Validate" 9- And this is where the magic happens. On the first row, write any text you wish on the item editor of the column "category", and press Tab 10- A popup will appear. Press No 11- Click on the same cell you just changed, and change it's value. Press Tab again This is where the RTE happens. After posting this bug, I've discovered that I can reproduce it quite consistently (99%!) using the above steps exactly as described. More info: the application is now in Apache Flex 4.9 with Air 3.5 overlayed. Before, we were using Flex 4.6 (with the default AIR), and the problem was already there. Since we didn't know the steps to reproduce it (we were receiving two or three daily reports from clients/testers without stack info), we weren't sure where to start looking for. After yesterday, we changed to Flex 4.9 with Air 3.5 and since 3.5 now shows stack traces in release version, today we were able to track the error, but not yet the solution. I'm also working on this one, trying to isolate it so I can provide more accurate info. If you have some tips/suggestions, I'm here to try them! > TypeError #1009 happening in dataProviderRefreshed() of List.as after a call > to endItemEditorSession() in Spark Datagrid > - > > Key: FLEX-33349 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33349 > Project: Apache Flex > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Spark: DataGrid >Affects Versions: Apache Flex 4.9.0 > Environment: All >Reporter: João Sérgio Nobre Saleiro > Labels: Datagrid, RTE, Spark, itemEditorSession, itemeditor, null > Attachments: transactions.txt > > Original Estimate: 3h > Remaining Estimate: 3h > > a) This RTE is quite hard to reproduce, and I wasn't able to build a simple > scenario to demonstrate it > b) It happens occasionally, in 20-30% of the tries > c) It happens after the user ends an itemEditorSession of a Spark ItemEditor > used in a Spark DataGrid. > d) It's a null error on line 1479 (dataProviderRefreshed) of List.as. > dataGroup is null when the function is called, causing the RTE. > The RTE follows below: > TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object > reference. > at > Function/()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/spark/src/spark/components/List.as:1479] > at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() > at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() > at > mx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/core/UIComponent.as:13160] > at > mx.managers::LayoutManager/doPhasedInstantiation()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/manager

I was able (I think) to avoid the RTE, but I don't really understand why and most importantly, the cause. Also, while the null error is happening in List.as, I'm now not really sure if this is related to Spark Datagrid. When the error happens, "this" points to "global", and nothing on the stack trace tells me which instance created updateCompleteListenerA - so it might not be the Datagrid. Here's how I was able to avoid the RTE: a) As I said above, ending the itemEditor session makes the parent component show a popup. The error happens the second time the popup shows. b) Knowing this, I put a breakpoint before the showing the popup, for the second time c) When the code reaches: PopUpManager.addPopUp(autoFillTransactionConfirmationView, this, true); , the error happens d) autoFillTransactionConfirmationView is created on the first run, and reused on the second run. So I've tried NOT reusing it. In other words, on the second run, and creating a new instance of autoFillTransactionConfirmationView e) guess what: no error! To make things even more confusing... before "fixing" the code, I've discovered something that doesn't make any sense at all: if, on the second change, I edit any other itemEditor that triggers the popup (that reuses the instance of autoFillTransactionConfirmationView), the error doesn't happen. It only happens when I edit the same itemEditor twice! While I think the above workaround is working, I'm not 100% comfortable with not understanding what's happening here... [jira] [Commented] (FLEX-33349) TypeError #1009 happening in dataProviderRefreshed() of List.as after a call to endItemEditorSession() in Spark Datagrid
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33349?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13554209#comment-13554209 ] João Sérgio Nobre Saleiro commented on FLEX-33349: -- Ok, I have now plenty more information to update this issue. The List.as where the null error occurs is the ComboBox inside the itemEditor. So the scenario is the following: 1- A Spark Datagrid has an itemEditor 2- The itemEditor has an (editable) ComboBox binded to ArrayCollection "ac" 3- By default, the selectedItem of the Combobox is null 4- The user can choose an item of the ComboBox, or write a new String 5- When he focus out, the itemEditor calls the save() method that dispatches an event 6- The outside component catches the event, and checks if the user wrote a String. If he did, the String is converted to an Object 7- This new object is added to "ac", and ac.refresh() is explicitely called. 8- This new object is also assigned to the item that the Combobox selectedItem is binded to, so the ComboBox selectedItem also changes 9- The refresh on "ac" forces the call of dataProviderRefreshed() on List.as of the Combobox - but ONLY on the second change (still need to understand this one) 10- In the meantime, a modal popup might appear, asking some stuff to the user. When the modal opens, updateCompleteListenerA is called and that's where all hell breaks loose, due to dataGroup being null in dataGroup.removeEventListen[...] of List.as . In other words, it's a ComboBox inside an itemEditor that triggers a RTE when it's dataProvider is refreshed while a popup is shown for the second time with PopupManager. Weird stuff: a) If, in step 10, the modal DOESN'T reuse the same same instance (it's a new instance everytime addPopup is called), the error doesn't happen b) If, in step 10, I decide not to show the modal, the error can still happen by simply changing the currentState of a another component (it's a simple group with label) that has . I'm still investigating and trying to understand this scenario. > The RTE follows below: > TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object > reference. > at > Function/()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/spark/src/spark/components/List.as:1479] > at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() > at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() > at > mx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/core/UIComponent.as:13160] > at > mx.managers::LayoutManager/doPhasedInstantiation()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/managers/LayoutManager.as:852] > at > mx.managers::LayoutManager/validateNow()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/managers/LayoutManager.as:886] > at > mx.core::UIComponent/commitCurrentState()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/core/UIComponent.as:10513] > at > mx.core::UIComponent/setCurrentState()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/core/UIComponent.as:10331] > at mx.core::UIComponent/set > currentState()[/Users/justinmclean/Documents/ApacheFlexSDK/frameworks/projects/framework/src/mx/core/UIComponent.as:6433] > at com.boonzi.desktop.core.view.components::BigTooltip/set > displayPopUp()[C:\webfuel\bo

This is visible when you resize the window. Not sure if the logo should be there; a grey background is probably good to fill the bottom bar. The log entries are now in a List; perhaps this should just be a text area so you can directly select (parts of) the text. A "copy log" button was already here to copy all lines to the clipboard. I added the possibility to choose the lines you want to copy to the clipboard. > Apache Flex Installer Suggested Enhancements > > > Key: FLEX-33202 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33202 > Project: Apache Flex > Issue Type: Task > Components: InstallApacheFlex >Affects Versions: InstalApacheFlex 1.0 >Reporter: Carol Frampton >Priority: Minor > > The following items should be considered for the next release. > The first time I tried install I seemed to get a bad mirror.
