AW: AW: [jira] [Commented] (FLEX-33086) Make SDK build with Maven/Flexmojos and deploy release and snapshot artifacts to the Apache Maven repository

2013-07-08 Thread christofer.d...@c-ware.de
Hi Frederic ...

I'll have a look into this ... I agree that I should release that pretty soon
... but I guess it will be a 6.0.1 ... don't want the People to Think there is
something new in this release ;-)

Fortunately I have been making quite good Progress with my
maven-generator-plugin and I will be able to continue my work on the
maven-flex-plugin ... really looking forward to this.

Chris

you don't want to have the burden to release ?

Well if there aren't any other things that should be fixed, perhaps I should
do a 6.0.1 release.
Just didn't want do to such a minor release just to do it again the next
week ;-)

And the Problem of deploying the FDKs are not a technical Problem but a
licensing one ;-)

It seems like flexmojos 6.0.0, deployed to maven central repository,
working fine with Adobe Flex SDK 4.6.0.23201, but I didn't find a way to
use it with Apache Flex SDK 4.9.1. Maybe because flexmojos compiled with
4.6.0, and working only with it? I think that is not right.

Actually, FM 6.0.1 fixed the things, the problem is that it hadn't been
deployed yet, so you need to build it from the sources and it works well.

For the other part of your topic, yes, until now, because we didn't find a
way to deploy it automatically yet, you will need to mavenized the SDKs too
to be able to use FM.

I hope I answered.

Ok, maybe mavenizing Flex SDK is a good simple way to use it. But I can't

Thanks for answer, Frédéric. There is no flexmojos 6.0.1 tag in github, only
6.1.0-snapshot in branch.
Well, there is another problem to me: flexmojos compiled with jdk 1.6, while
most of maven plugins required jdk 1.5+.
All java projects I am worked on based on 1.5, and there is no possibility to
migrate on 1.6 now. So I run maven using jdk 1.5, and have no troubles. But I
can't run FM this way.
So, I must run maven under jdk 1.6, and configure maven-compiler-plugin to use
jdk 1.5 for each java project, because maven is one :)
I think I can't using FM now for these reasons, and it made me sad :(

And to add my 50ct to the discussion: I have never had real trouble

As Velo no longer is at Sonatype I guess noone is maintaining that anymore and
I can't see a way how to deploy the maven site there :-(

I would be really glad, if we could switch off the old Sonatype site as this

Christofer Dutz commented on FLEX-33086:

Seems that I have completely missed this discussion ;-)

Well I'm pleased to report that Flexmojos 6.0.0 has just been deployed to
sonatypes public maven repo. Using the Mavenizer you can now start to build
Apache Flex applications using maven. So one part of this Ticket could be
closed :-)

And to add my 50ct to the discussion: I have never had real trouble setting up
Maven projects and I have setup a lot of them and usually tricky
configurations. Whenever I was called to fix a Maven setup, it was because
people setting it up initially weren't thinking in Maven ... it's sort of like
a C Programmer switching to Java, but wrappling his head around the Concept of
OO-development.

@Martin Heidegger: I personally don't know a single developer that works with
gradle.
@Oleg Sivokon: What trouble are you having? I know that Velo really had some
motivation problems, that's why I took over Flexmojos development. I am
personally using Flexmojos in about 6 different projects and am not having any
real issues with it and I have come to know quite a lot of people on the
flex-list that are actively using it too. I think we were able to address the
one or the other problem they were having and the current solution seems to be
pretty solid.

Make SDK build with Maven/Flexmojos and deploy release and snapshot artifacts
 to the Apache Maven repository
