Re: XBean release

2012-04-10 Thread Forrest Xia
Yep, a full profile tck run is preferable when we finalize the xbean new
release. I could help trigger a tck execution when the change into 3.0-beta
branch.

 Sounds good to me.

 I recall Jarek had some Jira's / commits (e.g.
 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XBEAN-204), but the Jira isn't
closed. If that work is in a good state, I'd say a release is in order...

Subject: ASF Board Report - Initial Reminder for Apr 2012
 Date: April 1, 2012 8:24:21 PM EDT
 To: Kevan Miller ke...@apache.org

This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the ASF Board.
It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to prepare the report.

The meeting is scheduled for Wed, 18 April 2012, 10:00:00 PST and the
 deadline for
submitting your report is 1 full week prior to that (Wed, Apr 11th)!

According to board records, you are listed as the chair of at least one
committee that is due to submit a report this month. [1] [2]

Details on which project reports are due and how to submit a report
 are enclosed below.

Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the board members
to review and digest. Again, the very latest you should submit your report
is 1 full week (7days) prior to the board meeting (Wed, Apr 11th).

If you feel that an error has been made, please consult [1] and if there
is still an issue then contact the board directly.

As always, PMC chairs are welcome to attend the board meeting.

 Thanks,
 The ASF Board

 Submitting your Report
 --

Full details about the process and schedule are in [1].

The report should be committed to the meeting agenda in the board directory
in the foundation repository, trying to keep a similar format to the others.
 This can be found at:

 https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/foundation/board

Your report should also be sent in plain-text format to bo...@apache.org
with a Subject line that follows the below format:

   Subject: [REPORT] Project Name

Cutting and pasting directly from a Wiki is not acceptable due to formatting
issues. Line lengths should be limited to 77 characters.

 Resolutions
 ---

There are several templates for use for various Board resolutions.
They can be found in [3] and you are encouraged to use them. It is
strongly recommended that if you have a resolution before the board,
you are encouraged to attend that board meeting.

Reports are due from you for the following committees:

[jira] [Updated] (GERONIMO-5778) Exclude jars from annotation scanning and/or bundle classpath

2012-04-10 Thread Ivan (Updated) (JIRA)

 [
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-5778?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
 ]

Ivan updated GERONIMO-5778:
---

Fix Version/s: 3.0-beta-2

Exclude jars from annotation scanning and/or bundle classpath
 -

 Key: GERONIMO-5778
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-5778
 Project: Geronimo
  Issue Type: Improvement
  Security Level: public(Regular issues)
  Components: deployment
Affects Versions: 3.0
Reporter: Jarek Gawor
Assignee: Ivan
 Fix For: 3.0-beta-2

In most cases large web applications with a number of embedded dependencies
contain jars that do not need to be scanned for annotations and/or included
on bundle class path. So it would be nice to have a way to specify in a
deployment descriptor 1) a list of jars that shouldn't be scanned for
annotations, and 2) a list of jars that do not need to be included in the
 bundle class path.
#2 is probably a bit less useful as the web application archive can always be
recreated but #1 might be very useful. It would help to speed up the
 (re)deployment process.

Re: XBean release

2012-04-10 Thread David Blevins
It sounds like there's willingness, but I'm not sure who is doing what and when.

If I put the vote up tonight, would the standard 72 hour vote period be enough
for you or Shawn to get the TCK run complete?

If not that's totally fine and we'll probably just use a patched version of
xbean-finder instead as we're trying to get an OpenEJB/TomEE final release out
this week.

Alright, might be easier to just put the release up for vote and give people
the time to do what they need.
