Searching on the bug archive I found a similar problem people where having with shtml pages and subrequests, so I patched mod_rewrite and now the subrequest is processed, mod_rewrite matches the regexp and says that its redirecting the request. But it doesnt get redirected (gets ignored by mod_dir) and mod_dir goes on trying to find other indexes. I tried using http 2.1 and it worked fine, but when I use the modules (mod_dir and mod_rewrite) compiled for 2.1 on 2.0.46 (I hacked the MAJOR so apache wont complain) I get segfaults. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could point me out how to patch my 2.0.46 since using 2.1 on my production server would be too risk. [Patch] swap ldap.h headers - PR 27379
Hi all, The above bug was posted about LDAP support not building on Solaris due to ldap.h and lber.h being declared in the wrong order. This patch has been committed to apr-util v1.0, what needs to be done to get it committed to apr-util v0.9? I think partly because nobody has stepped up to the plate to do it, and partly because I think it wants to be out of experimental first. The authn/z framework is a big change to the code, which makes it difficult to create patches for v2.0. It would be good to see auth_ldap nailed down and out the door 2.0 wise before it gets the authn/z treatment. I am in the process of testing two segfault fixes, which in theory should nail the last of the segfault problems. Once these issues are put to bed, I'll propose it be moved out of experimental... Re: mod_ldap maybe feature request
Actually the repeated one I hear is: Can we have a single resource / URL pattern authencticated against multiple LDAPs (e.g. A, B, C,...) such that if user U is not defined in A, B will be searched, and so forth. The first LDAP containing an entry found for the user would be bound against and determine pass / fail. As I understand it, this is not currently possible. -- Jess Holle

Re: suexec hook ordering (was Re: seeking for a developer to commit a patch)
Hi Joshua, The patch is obvious enough, but I'm not in a position to test suexec. For anyone who can do a quick check on suexec, this should be an easy patch. It seems to work fine on a server with about ten domains, but I cannot do a reliable test for every "exotic" situation. -- Florian

I believe this is how it worked in 1.3, and it appears that the intention was to make it work the same way in 2.0. The patch is obvious enough, but I'm not in a position to test suexec. For anyone who can do a quick check on suexec, this should be an easy patch. Joshua.

seeking for a developer to commit a patch
Hi there, I am seeking for a developer to commit a patch Joshua Slive kindly provided. Please have a look at http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18156 and check out whether it can be commited or not. I think this is an important patch closing an annoying bug and therefore should be included in the next release of Apache. Thanks! Florian
