[ANN] Pax Web 8.0.19 and 9.0.8 released

2023-04-06 Thread Grzegorz Grzybek
Hello

I'd like to announce new minor releases of Pax Web: 8.0.19 and 9.0.8.

Current runtime versions are:

   - Jetty 9.4.51.v20230217 (8.0.x) and 10.0.14 (9.0.x)
   - Tomcat 9.0.73
   - Undertow 2.2.23.Final

Besides single improvement (allow custom Tomcat Server implementation -
thanks Mathias Schwaninger!), this release is a step toward OSGi CMPN TCK
compliance.

I was experimenting with public TCK tests from https://github.com/osgi/osgi/
project (only CPMN Web Applications specification for now) and 136 tests
pass out of 138 (I've created osgi/osgi issues for the two remaining tests).

I'm going to check Whiteboard and HttpService TCK tests soon.

For completeness, the changelogs is available for 8.0.19[1] and 9.0.8[2].

kind regards
Grzegorz Grzybek

[ANN] Pax URL 2.6.13 released

2023-04-06 Thread Grzegorz Grzybek
Hello

I'd like to announce the release of Pax URL 2.6.13.

This is a minor release fixing Aether session memory leak (thanks to
GH@bhe-talendbj).
Also there are some changes to "webbundle:" handler to greatly improve Pax
Web's TCK coverage.

Full changelog can be found here[1].

kind regards

Re: Towards releases

2023-04-06 Thread Grzegorz Grzybek
Hello

Traditional hijacking to mention Pax Web.

I've played a bit with OSGi CMPN TCK and out of 3 CMPN "chapters" (102 -
HttpService, 128 - Web Applications, 140 - Whiteboard Service), here are
the results of running Pax Web 8.0.18 and Pax URL 2.6.12 with tiny fixes
for "web container tests" (Chapter 128):

Test run finished after 211979 ms
[16 containers found ]
[ 0 containers skipped]
[16 containers started]
[ 0 containers aborted]
[16 containers successful ]
[ 0 containers failed ]
[ 138 tests found ]
[ 0 tests skipped ]
[ 138 tests started ]
[ 0 tests aborted ]
[ 136 tests successful ]
[ 2 tests failed ]

Those two failing tests are related to:
 - https://github.com/osgi/osgi/issues/578

So far, OSGi TCK for CMPN 128 was based on Eclipse Virgo + Eclipse Gemini
servers.

The point is that I want to release Pax Web 8.0.19 and Pax URL 2.6.13 today
or tomorrow. +Jean-Baptiste Onofré - do I have few days?

regards
Grzegorz Grzybek

Side note: will cave and wg be kept in an "attic" page somewhere on the
website? Just wondering about people using it and not finding any data
about it anymore.
