Re: Connecting with Kylin to CDH from another computer
Some of my cents: usually Kylin runs on a Hadoop client node (or say edge node). You just need install Hadoop/Hive/HBase client binary and jars with the proper *-site.xml files (core-site.xml, yarn-site.xml, hive-site.xml, hbase-site.xml) there. Then Kylin will try to locate these configurations and then connect to the cluster. There is no additional API call needed, all are standard ways.

OK. I will try to do that. I'm not a specialist in that case so if I have a problem, I will write it down here. Re: Connecting with Kylin to CDH from another computer
If you're new to Hadoop, suggest you try Kylin on AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, or HDP sandbox vms; that will ensure you will not get much environment issue. 2017-05-16 21:18 GMT+08:00 Bart : > OK. Re: Connecting with Kylin to CDH from another computer
My message wasn't updated so early. I would like to repeat that case: "But you know, I have a cluster with Cloudera and seperate, another computer with installed Linux on it. Is that enough? Kylin installed on separate computer will see the Cloudera cluster and will use it's resources?" -- View this message in context: http://apache-kylin.74782.x6.nabble.com/Connecting-with-Kylin-to-CDH-from-another-computer-tp7979p8008.html Sent from the Apache Kylin mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
