[l10n-dev] Deadline for OOo 2.0.2 translations

2005-12-23 Thread Vladimir Glazounov

Hi all,

the last cws integration for faetures for OOo 2.0.2 is planned for
January 19th 2006. In order to meet the deadlines, please start working
on your translation updates as soon as the CWS hc680fin is integrated.

The deadline for providing GSI / SDF files is 05 Jan 2006.

Keep in mind that the timeline till last cws integration is very tight,
so I have to reject all files coming too late.

Please update to the milestone where hc680fin is intagrated.

As the integration cause a lot of work do not provide sdf files that
cover less then 80 % ( UI only ) translation done. Also please add the
en-US translation to your sdf file.

Important: To prevent confusion and big mess please ensure that your
issue has the following properties set:

Assign to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" , Target milestone to "2.0.2" , Component
"l10n" , Subcomponent "ui" , Issue type "ENHANCEMENT"

And as usual please:

- File an issuezilla bug to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" . Please don't attach
your file directly to that issue, better provide an URL / link pointing
to your file. Only attach if you don't have any webspace available.

- Please take care that the GSI / SDF file format is not violated (
format errors like wrong amount of tabs, shifted columns, ... ). You can
use the tool "gsicheck" to perform basic checks on your file. "gsicheck"
is located in the transex3 module.

usage: gsicheck -c -l "" myfile.sdf

- We try to correctly update our database status information which would
later help us to improve the overall quality of the translation. Please
provide a GSI / SDF file containing both, your language and the
corresponding en-US source string. Please note that the en-US string
have to be the same milestone like your translation.
Best regards,

Vladimir

Re: [l10n-dev] Deadline for OOo 2.0.2 translations

2006-01-05 Thread Vladimir Glazounov

Hi all,

the hc680fin CWS will not be integrated in the ongoing release, it's
postponed. So, for the people who have waited for that CWS the new
deadline is 10 jan 2006.

Vladimir, please don't consider my announcement as a starting shot.
Because of tight release scedule we cannot set deadlines in distant
future. But there are not so much strings coming in with every
milestone, so for consecutive translation such deadlines should not be a
problem (as Pavel wrote). So our announcement is rather a drop-scene one.

Best regards,

Vladimir

Re: [l10n-dev] help regarding telugu language

2006-01-18 Thread Vladimir Glazounov

Hi,

little correction: wait until announcement like "Deadline for OOo 2.0.2
translations" in this newsgroup - read it carefully, and than submit an
issue. So you can deliver up-to-date translation on time with all the
requirements fulfilled. (you may want to read last such announcement FYI)

You need a GSI file that has all the messages in Telugu (at least 80%).

Put this file in compressed format (for example bz2) in some website.

Hi Jamil,

The Feature_freeze date is a start date for final updating of the

And same for Pavel builds, what should one name the file?
I think there is a need for a page dedicated to current localization
process with clear step by step explanations. Announcements through
mailing lists is not enough, especially for teams with limited
resources.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

2007-01-22 Thread Vladimir Glazounov

Hi all,

thanks for all translations submitted.
There were some files with errors. I have attached the error files to
the correspondent issues, but I didn't mean you should fix them quickly.
The localization process is quite complex, so I don't have time for
catch-ups. The sdf.err files are being provided for information and
learning what gsicheck is for, not for catch-up fixes.

He have recently added our translation to SUN database, in fact, this is
our first official pre-release.

He have been testing the Linux version and we have found some problems:

1.- First of all, our translation has about 90% of helpcontent2
translated to gl.. But in the 2.2 compiled version all help section is
in English, not in Galician. Is this due to this pre-release version or
is there any problem with our help section???

2.- We have detected 2 strings which aren't correctly translated. We are
going to correct this. If we put an issue to l10n-dev with the updated
gsi file, will it be enough???

3.- We have a recently added hunspell based dictionary for gl... Why
isn't it included in this compilation??.
See the dictionary in

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries#Galician_.28Spain.29

4.- There are some stability problems: sometimes it hungs up while
copying or pasting, when this happens in command line there is a line
like this "ScimInputContextPlugin()" May this error is caused by our
translation? Sometimes it also shows buggy graphics. See snapshot attached.

Thanks a lot. Greetings from Galicia.

Hi Marcin,

what .sdf file do you need? Complete file with all translations? Or
maybe, you need only updated strings? All languages in one file, or one
language pro file? With english or not? Only OOo languges, or SO
languages or both?

As you can see there are some options...

i see, the OOo release schedule is somewhat misleading. The last CWS
integration is meant for code fixes, not UI-related... That is, the will
be no second chance for l10n.

Best regards,

Vladimir

Clytie Siddall wrote:

Hi everyone :)

Looking at the 2.4 release schedule:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease24

we can still edit our GSI file, and submit it again (with an issue for
2.4) by the 7th February, is that right?

My team has some fixes we want to commit.

[l10n-dev] Reminder: Deadline for OOo 3.0 translations

2008-04-02 Thread Vladimir Glazounov

Hi all,

tomorrow is the deadline for OOo 3.0 translations.

Keep in mind that the timeline till last cws integration is very tight,
so We have to reject all files delivered too late.

As the integration cause a lot of work do not provide sdf files that
cover less then 80 % ( UI only ) translation done. Also please add the
en-US translation to your sdf file.

Important: To prevent confusion and big mess please ensure that your
issue has the following properties set:

Assign to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", Target milestone to "OOo 3.0" , Component
"l10n" , Subcomponent "code" , Issue type "ENHANCEMENT"

And as usual please:

- File an issuezilla bug to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" . Please don't attach
your file directly to the issue, but provide an URL / link pointing
to your file. Please do attach only if you don't have any other web
space available.

- Please make sure that the GSI / SDF file format is not violated (
format errors like wrong amount of tabs, shifted columns, ... ). You can
use the tool "gsicheck" to perform basic checks on your file. "gsicheck"
is located in the transex3 module.

usage: gsicheck -c myfile.sdf

- We try to correctly update our database status information which would
later help us to improve the overall quality of the translation. Please
provide a GSI / SDF file containing both, your language and the
corresponding en-US source string. Please note that the en-US string
have to be the same milestone like your translation.
Best regards,

Vladimir

I've seen cws ooo330l10n has been created two days ago, but there

According to the wiki, builds should be ready for testing by tomorrow.
This would be really great, as we have a project workshop session

Could someone give more information?

One wish for the future: could someone take care, that not only the l10n

that l10n engineering did not meet deadlines, without informing us
beforehand. Often we see such information when the deadline is due
or one day later. This does not only raise pressure on our teams (as
time for our work is reduced) but makes planning of our work a superfluous
waste of time.

translation rule 8 Languages (ky, ny, pap, ps, pyg, sc, so, son) are not
taken into the build, that is builds for 59 Languages will be provided.
Unixes - as language packs, windows - as normal install sets.

Hi Vladimir,

Most of the help is in Hungarian but there are English segments at
some places. I think these are the updated segments.

Example:
The Print dialog consists of three main parts: A preview with
navigation buttons, several tab pages with control elements specific
to the current document type, and the Print, Cancel, and Help buttons.

It is translated in the helpcontent2\source\text\shared\01.po at #:

I uploaded my translation at 9 AM on July 16th (because at night
Pootle was down), maybe I missed the deadline by a few minutes. :( No
problem, I just wanted to clarify what happened.

Why is Irish (ga) missing?

That's simple - see my comment in the issue: "fixed in the CWS
ooo330l10n". So, you can find install sets for Irish (ga) where we have
install sets from ooo330l10n, that is:
