Hi Alexandro. The Asturian can be an OpenOffice language, of course! We will not work in "ES" localization because it's the Spanish language, and us language is the Asturian. We have translated ALL OpenOffice in Launchpad, we want to import it to upstream. I am very surprised that an open source translator can say that a language is not valid. Best regards. I have got more infomration on the status for asturian at the moment there havent started settling the project as of yet. I recomend that you keep in contact wtih the other asturian translators as they just asked to start the project on Pootle. Once the Pootle project is settle you will be able to start with the translation. Again, I am still not sure asturian has enough community to ask for a Level 1 Project. My suggestion is to work with ES (me) and manage the localization from there. So far we manage localization for Guarani and soon to add another one.
