Yes, this method does not modify the `LoggerConfig`, so the children
of the logger will not see the level change.
It should work similarly to `Configurator#setLevel` or at least
`org.apache.log4j.Logger#setLevel` should call `Configurator#setLevel`
instead of `core.Logger.setLevel`.

To make sure I understand, you are saying the bug is in
