[~jamesthomas], the registry process has no dependencies whatsoever on DFC, so
any changes to this would be unnecessary.

Last question: can the DFC properties location be provided as a -D switch
parameter to the JVM?

One other thing: I don't believe I have evidence that it's necessary, but it is
now my practice to edit the CLASSPATH initialisation in the
documentum-registry/run.sh script in the same way as documentum-server/run.sh,
again to parallel the Windows run.bat scripts.

In the experiment I just described, I reverted to CLASSPATH="" in both scripts
initially, but only changed documentum-server/run.sh before restarting MCF.

Can you put dfc.properties in the same directory as the other DFC files and
have it be found?

I have found an alternative fix.

If you are prepared to call run.sh by cd-ing into the directory in which it
exists, you can modify in a less intrusive way than I initially suggested.

change
{code:java}
CLASSPATH=""{code}
to
{code:java}
CLASSPATH ="."{code}
This makes the script more like the run.bat equivalent for Windows, which
already has the working directory on the CLASSPATH.
