To get them made you can use a company called Mulberry Design Print were I work, They are UK based and delivery worldwide if its not in the UK. Were cheap and i can possibly get you a discount if you need somewhere for them to be printed. -- From: Juergen Schmidt juergen.schm...@sun.com Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 3:37 PM To: dev@marketing.openoffice.org Subject: [marketing] FOSDEM: We need a T-Shirts slogan/design ... Hi, the FOSDEM is coming soon, organization is ongoing(see http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Conferences/FOSDEM/2009) We want to produce some merchandising stuff for our booth. One thing should be a T-Shirt (available for a donation - production price + ...) The time is short for a cool image/design (probably too short take 2-3 production into account) and the costs shouldn't be too high. We have received 3 drafts but we can't use it because it's too complex for the print. We need something simpler. I think about something like this: OpenOffice.org 3 It's free It's open It's simply cool I created a pure draft (it's of course not good, the gulls are really bad) and put it on the wiki. But hey i am no designer and gimp is not my best friend (too complicate for me). But i am sure that others have better ideas and hopefully somebody can produce the final design in a more professional way. I would like to start a brainstorming discussion here to collect ideas for a nice T-Shirt. As mentioned before the time is short and we need something at the beginning of January. Re: [marketing] FOSDEM: We need a T-Shirts slogan/design ...
Erm, your probably looking at around £3-6 per shirt, depending on the design and whether you want them double sided (front and back) or not. There was an auto quote system on our website but its been taken down at the moment due to the work demand. You can get a full quote by calling (0151) 334 2300 and asking for Mike or Pete with regards to t-shirt prints. I don't work in that area so can't give you an accurate price sorry :P -- From: Juergen Schmidt juergen.schm...@sun.com Sent: Friday, December 19, 2008 6:50 PM To: dev@marketing.openoffice.org Subject: Re: [marketing] FOSDEM: We need a T-Shirts slogan/design ... Re: [marketing] OpenOffice.org-Forge
Yea i like that idea, and it will do well in terms of different versions of stuff such as artwork and documents such as pdf's and the like. It will enable us to not overwrite, accidently remove other user's content and stuff as it will be version based. As for hosting however, There are multiple places it could go, could go on the OOo site or somewhere remote such as a storage site such www.solo.flphost.com or www.box.net however www.box.net has a limit on the space you can use. But yea, overall I like or even love this idea. -- From: Alexandro Colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 9:09 PM To: OpenOffice Mktg dev@marketing.openoffice.org; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [marketing] OpenOffice.org-Forge Many projects have extended their encouragemente of 3rd party support to get developers jump in their peripheral branches. However they also go as far as having the whole hosting suite for all these projects. They usually use a web application called *Forge, taken from sourceforge or g-force. Other companies doing this include: Novell PostgreSQL community Ruby etc.. What are the chances to have a http://forge.services.openoffice.org setup. This will make it easier for developers to host their projects and actually don't get into other conflicts like hosting, etc. Hopefully we can get more convesation over these topics. -- Alexandro Colorado CoLeader of OpenOffice.org ES http://es.openoffice.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi guys, I'm no marketing guru by any stretch of imagination, but that doesn't stop me from chiming in with a few ideas. :-) I think all your suggestions are great, but as an average OpenOffice.org user I'd like to see more stuff that would help me to promote OpenOffice.org and create a hype around the 3.0 release. For example, I'd gladly place a banner on my website, but I couldn't find any. Yes, I know about http://ui.openoffice.org/VisualDesign/OOo_banner.html but these banners are outdated and, frankly, not very attractive. How about creating feature-focused banners instead of just the generic get it now ones? For example: OpenOffice.org 3.0. Now with PDF import, or OpenOffice.org 3.0: infinitely extensible (refers to OOo extensions). Why not to make a call for OpenOffice.org 3.0 wallpapers? I'm sure there are a lot of talented OOo users who would love to create some good-looking wallpapers. Also, why not create a YouTube video that demonstrates new features in OpenOffice.org 3.0?
